Activities Discussed on the Occasion of International Anti-Corruption Day

Today, as a result of the reforms being implemented in our country, transparency and openness are ensured in the activities of every sector. In this process, the anti-corruption month also plays an important role.

Based on this, at the initiative of the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan and in cooperation with JSC “Uzbektelecom,” a roundtable discussion was organized dedicated to December 9 — International Anti-Corruption Day.

The event, aimed at increasing the effectiveness of the anti-corruption system in the sector, timely identifying corrupt practices, eliminating their causes and preventing such actions, was attended by the Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov, Deputy Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency Umid Mavlyanov, as well as the Company’s management.

During the event, the work carried out in this direction was acknowledged, and a group of employees of internal control and compliance units operating within system organizations were awarded.

In the main part of the roundtable, it was highlighted that a certification audit had been conducted at JSC “Uzbektelecom” in November of this year. Following its results, the certification body Cert International issued a positive conclusion confirming that the Company’s integrated management system complies with international standards.

Accordingly, during the event, the company was officially presented with conformity certificates for the integrated management system, which incorporates the requirements of international standards for enhancing environmental performance (ISO 14001), optimizing the use of energy resources and reducing energy costs (ISO 50001), improving working conditions, reducing injuries and occupational risks (ISO 45001), and promoting corporate social responsibility (ISO 26000).
